Major progressives were Theodore Roosevelt, Jane Addams, Margaret Sanger, Henry Ford. Roosevelt passed laws to aid labor problems among Americans. Addams led health movement and suffrage for women. She inspired Sanger who became a sex education activist. Ford opened his company to a lot of workers. The movement started after Civil War. It was created to battle against emerging and remaining social problems which are caused by industrialization. It was at this time that America started to rise as a great industrial country. A lot of citizens benefitted from it, however a lot of people also suffered from poverty and unequal rights.
