Confirmity as a positive force in history

Conformity can make people work together and pursue a common goal, which maybe they wouldn't do on their own. A historical example is the nationalization of oil in Mexico in 1940, a goal toward which the whole country contributed (famously, people were bringing their own things to sell to make money for the oil)
