    With speed in overseas transport, crops are closer than ever before, and are now more easily shared. In addition, the price of products, such as sugar cane, falls, as technological advances allow more agility and lower costs. Finally, immigration, now facilitated, increases.

    Shipping technologies advanced immediately.

    Immigration increased.

    Cultures were more readily shared.
