On Election Day, voters for president are really voting for

On election day, voters for president are really just voting for electors. The vote they cast is instead rather more of an indication of who they want to be president. The electors are the members of the electoral college who will then represent their state, who in turn will cast a vote which decides who will become the next President of the United States.
