The voyage from England to the New World took 66 days. The Mayflower was the name of the ship that took cargo and passengers to America. The ship was originally planned to be accompanied by another the Speedwell. But because of leakage problems that could not be fixed, the Speedwell was left behind and the Mayflower departed from Plymouth England. Although they had planned to land in Northern Virginia, the passengers decided to disembark in Cape Cod and that is where they made their first plantation.
