    The strength of feudal europe:

    There were classes and each person basically knew their clsaa. It was more organized and the people (sometimes, depending on the situation) felt safe. This is meaning the peasants because they were on property of the lords who were also knights for the kings. This kept them protected without caring about fighting, that just payed lots of taxes and lived their lives.
