How did the Aztecs adapt to their environment

The Aztecs adapted their environment in several ways. Sporadic rain was dealt with by creating a system of irrigation and reservoirs for growing their crops. The saline and freshwater takes allowed for a large variety of fish and hunting as many creatures traveled to these water sources.
