The primary role of the President of the United States is to serve as the chief executive of the United States. What are the president's responsibilities and powers as chief executive?

    As the President, they are in charge of the execution and enforcement of any laws formed by the Congress. The President also nominates the heads of over more than 50 federal commissions and can either sign legislation into law.

    With the President also being Chief Executive, they can apply policies, organize the executive branch of government, prepare an executive budget for submission to congress, and assign and remove executive officials.
