Who decreased the amount of coal needed to pump water out of mines

The idea brought about by this dilemma is done by Thomas Newcomen. He invented the Newcomen atmospheric engines. It was famously used anywhere in British and European regions, in order to pump water out of mines. Later on, it became widely popular and production was high during the 18th century.
