What is the most important factor in explaining the Spanish victory over the Aztecs and Incas in the 16th century

The Spanish (and the Europeans in general) brought with them diseases to which the native Americans were not immune - upon just a contact with the Europeans many native Americans fell sick and many of them died and this was the most important factor in the Native Americans not standing a chance against the colonisers.
