Why is Mesopotamia an appropriate name for the place where the civilizations of the Fertile Crescent firsts began?

    Well, the word Mesopotamia in Greek means Land Between two Rivers. And the shape of the two form a shape much like a crescent. The land is fertile because of the river water that makes the soil rich and soft and good for growing.

    Because the Sumerians decided to call it Mesopotamia, which is Greek for the land between the rivers
