What did humanists belive about peoples abilities

Humanists believe that people are good and very capable deep down. What we have to do as fellow human beings is evoke and nurture these talents and capabilities in other people so that they become healthy and good individuals. This can only be done through mutual compasion and a positive relationship towards others.
