Years ago, the apple maggot ancestors laid their eggs only on hawthorns which are native to America. Due to lumber activity the first female apple maggot fly had to leave the hawthorn tree. At this time early European colonists brought apple tree seed sand began to grow them, as well as graft the trees. The female apple maggot fly was ready to lay her eggs and came upon an apple orchard. She needed to lay her egg sand chose an apple tree even though it was different from the hawthorn tree.
