This was the fall of the Muslim Golden Age where the Mongols were able to take Baghdad. There was so much destruction in the area that includes the agriculture. Later on, the Mongols rebuilt Baghdad, spared the lives of the remaining Christian inhabitants. The city became progressive in terms of economy, trading and religion.
