Why did nationalism increase rivalries between European nations

    Nationalism is the belief that your nation is the best there is. When two countries both feel that way about their own nations, problems are bound to arise. A good example is Britain and Germany. They both felt like they had the best Navy's, which turned into a rival on the sea to prove who was better.
