Weathering and erosion is largely caused by the forces of nature. Weathering is a process that is caused by wind and the breaking up of rock and sediments through wind and also rain, snow, sleet, or ice. Also weathering can occur when water freezes inside of rock and then can crack and destroy a rock surface. Erosion is caused by the movement of water, ice, or gravity. This process is when sediment or rock is picked up and moved by one of these forces.
