    The renaissance was a period of intellectual and artistic creativity. The word renaissance means rebirth in French which refers to the rebirth of interest in Classical Greek and Roman ideas. The renaissance also changed in science, there was new theories that scholars tested. Authors wrote about individuals place in the world. Artists studied classical sculpture. Over the next 2 centuries the Renaissance changed the way Europeans thought of the world around them and themselves.
