    The answer is a. Democrat and Republican. The Democratic Party represents liberal or progressive ideology. They favor more government intervention, less support for the military, they for social justice, strong support for healthcare, amnesty for illegal immigrants, supports alternative lifestyles. Republicans represent conservative ideology, less government intervention, more support for the military, individual rights, favor less taxes, less government intervention, prefer private healthcare, oppose amnesty for illegal aliens. Each party is the opposite of the other. These win depending on what the public gives priority to on social issues.
