What is meant by "citing a source"?

    When we're talking about citing sources, we're talking about acknowledging the ideas we're using when we're writing about something that is interesting to us. If you do a report on some topic and you're using an idea from somebody else then you also have to properly address and cite your source.

    Answer: naming the source of the information

    when you think of citing a source, citing's definition is to refer to something, that's a similar definition to naming which is how I got naming, the source obviously holds the information we seek, and all together we should: name the source of the information.
