Explain why is it generally warmer near the equator than it is near the poles

    It is warmer at the equator than at the poles because of the spherical shape of the earth, and because of what direction the equator is facing. The equator is more towards the sunlight than the poles is.

    Earth has seasons because its axis is tilted as it revolves around the sun. Halfway between the solstices, neither hemisphere is tilted toward or away from the sun.
