How did washington's plan for advancing african american differ from that of du bois?

    DuBois wanted drastic changes and he wanted them fast, while Booker T. took the more realistic approach and said he knew it would take time, but he would do whatever he could to make sure it happened. DuBois wanted to be able to see changes in his generation, Washington wanted to see changes in generations to come.
