In the North Pole, during the summer, most days have 24 hours of sunlight because the earth is towards the sun in the summer, on the other hand, in the winter the North pole has about 24 hours of darkness. This is because the earth is away from sun. This is also a very very cold climate with temps in the negatives regularly!
