Define "violent crime" and "property crime" and give an example of each.

    Property crime is a category of crime that includes, among other crimes, burglary, larceny, theft, motor vehicle theft, arson, shoplifting, and vandalism. Property crime involves the taking of property, and does not involve force or threat of force against a victim. violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Violent crimes are defined in the UCR Program as those offenses which involve force or threat of force.

    Violent crime is a force on victim. And example would be : someone robs you at a A. T. M and you're resisting.

    Property crime is an act of vandalism. Example would be : kids spray painting a side of a building.
