What is the relationship between manifest destiny and the frontier? Manifest destiny was essential in pushing the frontier farther west toward the Pacific Ocean. Manifest destiny was fueled by the desire to conquer American Indians who lived on the frontier. The settlers of the frontier opposed manifest destiny and tried to fight against its implementation. The settlers on the frontier grew prosperous because they believed in the concept of manifest destiny.

    Manifest Destiny was a theory that argued that America had a religiously supported right and push to control all of the land between the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. Therefore, this philosophy was essential in pushing the frontier farther west towards the Pacific Ocean.
