Someone could become a slave by getting captured in a war and put into slavery. They could also be born into slavery or abandoned by their parents who were not slaves. A person could also be sold, to become a slave. Another way was if you were captured in a war. Men, women and children of all ages could become a slave. The men could become a police man only if they were freed by their master. Women would usually clean the house and do chores such as making sure a fire was going or cooking meals for her master’s family. They had to do 250 jobs a day all day. Deadly jobs were ship rowers, it is deadly because if the ship started to sink all the slaves on board would die. Sometimes if slaves aren't doing their job well or disobeying their masters they would be sent to the silver mines to work. Some men would also work in the fields, this could also be dangerous because if a slave stops working the men who are watching them on horses will whip them.
