Stereotypes may be based on: sex, race, ethnicity, phisical appearance, proffession (all lawyers are liers; )), education, religion etc.

A stereotype could be a general belief about an individual or group of individuals that may not be true.

For example; Women are excellent nurses, because they can take good care of patients. This is a perfect example of stereotypes.
