How are atoms and molecules the same? How are they different?

    Atoms are the building block for one element whereas molecular are different element atoms bound together either covalently or ionically

    Similarities

    all made up of the same basic elemental components (quantized mono-charges) all components are bound together by electro-static attraction forcesall have internal repel electro-static forces that are less than the attraction forces

    Differences

    distance between charges creating the net binding forces, larger distance means weaker binding forces number of basic elemental components (mono-charges), ie just more of the same components. Seen as differences in mass, weight, inertia.
