When should students begin researching and applying for colleges?

    Their second year of high school (11th grade, sophomore)

    I believe that you should start researching for colleges in the the 9th grade (freshman) so you could get an idea for what you are looking for, and begin apply for them in 10th (sophomore) so the colleges can do researches on you and see that you are really interested in them.
