Why is the story of the Château de Versailles considered a "rags to riches" story?

Answers may vary but the area was once considered a neglected filed but it was transformed into a spectacular construction with very intricate detail. It is now museum and a top tourist attraction. When the chateau was built, the community of Versailles was just a small village during the 11th century. It is the seat of power in the Kingdom of France until King Louis XIV moved the royal court from Paris, forcing the Royal Family to move to the capital. Versailles is a symbol of absolute monarchy during the ancient regime.
