Density is mass divided by volume (d = m : v). Based on the graph, what happens to a fixed mass of water when it is cooled from 4°C to 0°C?

    The mass of the water does not change. However, the volume varies with temperatures. Water at 4 degrees centigrade occupies the least amount of volume compared to other temperatures. Therefore based on the calculation of D=M/V, then water at 4 degrees centigrade has the highest density.
