Why are the carnivores that you saw in the temperate forest segment so scarce now?

Carnivores in the temperate forest segment are scarce due to exposure to extreme temperatures. These animals survive off of smaller prey in the wildlife and other plants that grow. In extreme temperatures, wildlife cannot survive if they cannot eat.
