    I believe they comprise a group called tetrapods. Tetrapod are organisms whose evolution began about 400 million years ago in the Devonian period with the earliest tetrapods evolving from lobe-finned fishes. They are categorized as a biological super class Tetrapoda. which includes all living things and extinct amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
