When a child has celiac disease, his body has a major problem with gluten. Damage is done to the lining of his small intestine when any food containing gluten - are ingested.

It is a lifelong condition where there is no known medicine to cure, although a happy and normal life is said to be possible with proper management. The only treatment to follow is a gluten-free diet. Gluten includes wheat, barley, and rye which is nearly impossible to completely remove from a child’s diet. Parents need to be aware also of hygiene products especially when bathing young children.
