Plant cells do not contain contractile vacuoles. what happens when a plant is watered? the cells swell. the cells shrink. the cells stay the same size.

    The plant cells will swell when lacking contractile vacuoles. This us because without the vacuoles expanding from the intake of water, the cytoplasm will uptake more water (via osmosis) and expand.
