Based on your understanding of fetal development what do you think the cause of varying growth rates and the significant change in fetal survival rate over time?

If by over time you mean through the years, the cause of fetal survival rate growing is medicine. Hospitals and doctors are more aware of problems of fetuses in the womb and theres a more sterile environment. Changes through generations include the same reasons but also include adaptation.
