The first disproval of spontaneous generation was by Francesco Redi who showed that maggots arose from meat only when flies laid eggs in the meat. The next experiment of disproval was by Louis Pasteur with his swan-neck flasks. The final experiment was when John Tyndall published the method for fractional sterilization which showed that heat-resistant bacterial spores exist.
