In the greenhouse effect, short-wave solar radiation gets absorbed by the earth's surface and is reflected back as infrared radiation. What happens to the infrared radiation?

A. It is absorbed by carbon dioxide and water in the atmosphere.

B. Nothing, it just sits there.

C. there is no such thing as infrared radiation because you can see it.
