Decrease the rate of carbon dioxide diffusion from the blood to the alveoli. (Ans. D)

    Explanation:

Alveolar ventilation: Alveolar ventilation is explained as the exchange of gases which is present between the outer atmosphere and alveoli. In this ventilation process oxygen is entered into the lungs from the outer atmosphere because of this CO2 carried into the lungs in the blood is ejected from the body.

It is also defined as the amount of fresh air entering the alveoli per minute, a same amount of alveoli air leaving the body. So, it means while the alveolar ventilation rate is increasing the rate of carbon dioxide diffusion from the blood to the alveoli will decrease.
