    Obtaining food

    Explanation:

Cheetahs don't have the same stamina as most of their preys and wouldn't be able to keep up chasing them for longer periods so, in order to obtain food, they developed an extremely high speed which allows them to stalk their prey to a close enough distance and then engage in a brief high-speed chase. The difference in speed allows the Cheetah to hunt them their prey.
