What would happen to ocean currents if the earth didn't rotate?

    If the Earth didn't rotate, most currents wouldn't exist. The ocean currents are driven by warmth and cold, and the rotation of the earth ... Firstly, without rotation, the only tendency for currents to flow will be from the warm equator, to the cold poles, as a temperature driven current.
