Answer: Animals are able to identify specific types of smell through specialised receptors that absorb a particular type of energy and transform such energies into action potential.

Stimuli in the environment also active specialised receptors in animals.

The sensory of animals are not fully developed like those in humans, they therefore follow different pathways.

Therefore very few sensory cells generate active potential.

Explanation:There are different types of action potential for each sensory for the central nervous system to work with.
