    mitosis of fertilized egg

    Explanation:

Mitosis a type of cell division that forms two daughter cells from one parent cell. The daughter cells produced by mitosis are genetically identical to their parent cells and among themselves. Mitosis does not involve the process of crossing over between homologous chromosomes which otherwise is responsible for the generation of genetic variations by meiosis. Similarly, the independent assortment of homologous chromosomes during anaphase-I of meiosis reduces the chromosome number of the daughter cells to half of the parent cells and adds genetic variations.

However, mitosis in zygote would produce the daughter cells that have identical DNA and the same chromosome number as that of the zygote. For instance, mitosis in human zygote carrying 2n=46 would produce daughter cells, each having 2n=46 chromosomes and the same gene combinations as that of the zygote.
