The statement given in the question is TRUE.; excess dietary protein is stored as an energy source in the liver.

Protein is one of the major macro molecules that make up the human nutrients. It is made up of twenty different amino acids combine together in different ways. Protein is used for various purposes in the body. When the quantity of protein in the body is more than the amount the body needs, the excess protein is usually converted to glucose or lipid after the removal of the nitrogenous contents through either deamination or transamination reactions. The liver is responsible for conversion of excess proteins into glucose or lipids. After the conversion, the molecules will be exported out of the liver and store in the adipose tissues. These molecules are usually used during gluconeogenesis to form glucose.
