Bacteriophage is a virus that infects the bacteria.

    Explanation:

Bacteriophages are viruses that can infect the bacteria. They have a hexagonal head and a tail. The head consists of viral DNA. The bacteriophage sits on the bacterial cell and injects the genetic material through its tail into the bacterial body. This process is called transduction. Inside the bacteria, the viral genome replicates and produces new viruses. After some time the lysogenic enzyme present in the virus breaks the bacterial wall and all the viruses emerge out. This ultimately causes the death of the bacteria and newly formed viruses again to go for a search of new bacteria.
