How might watery eyes be a defensive response. What is the answer

    Our eyes water as a defense against a foreign body on the eye. When our eyes are irritated, due to an eyelash for example, our nervous system sends an impulse to our eyes to make them 'water' to irrigate the foreign body out of the eye.
