    Cutaneous receptors are:

    • Pacinian corpuscles-These are types of mechanoreceptor (response to mechanical stimuli such as pressure or vibration). They are nerve endings in the skin that are sensitive to vibration and pressure

    • Merkel's disc-These are types of mechanoreceptors, nerve endings that are sensitive to mechanical pressure, position, and sustained touch (shapes and edges of objects).

    • Ruffini's end organ - These are types of mechanoreceptors slowly adapted that detects skin stretch.

    • Meissner's corpuscles - These are types of mechanoreceptors, nerve endings responsible for sensitivity to light touch (changes in texture).
