Carl and Maria joined the cross-country team. They practiced long hours, running for miles every day. When they questioned the never-ending training, Coach Bill told them that their athletic performance would improve as they worked on endurance, running longer and longer distances. What cellular interactions are the result of their training, allowing for improved athletic performance?

    Answer: The training for longer duration of time will improve the muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance and mitochondrial efficiency.

    All the things mentioned above will improve the stamina of the body and the body will greater stamina will work for a longer duration of time as compared to the body having normal stamina.

    The body having greater mitochondrial efficiency will need least time to rest and will regain energy fast to work again.
