Gregor Mendel is the father of genetics. Im pretty sure he used the cross-pollination method. This method is when you cut the male parts of the flower carrying the pollen and dust that pollen onto a different female part of that flower. He had to prevent self-pollination in order for his experiment to work. Then he used those hybrids to study and conclude his results.
