Why does Mars not have as many craters as the Moon or Mercury?

    Craters are caused by being struck, mars doesnt have as many craters as the moon or mercury due to its gravitational pull. Just as the moons gravitation around earth effects the tides, it will draw itself around taking the impact of incoming astroids and such
