Mitosis is somatic cell division. In this division, the parent cells divide to form identical daughter cells. Mitosis is divided into different phases, Interphase, Prophase, Anaphase, Metaphase and Telophase followed by Cytokineses.

Meiosis is the division of germ cells. In this division, the parent cells divide to form haploid daughter cells. Meiosis is divided into two stages: Meiosis I and II. Each stage contains the same phases as mitosis.
